Ten UW-Madison graduate programs will be named in U.S. News & World Report's 2002 rating of graduate programs today.
The magazine surveys different fields of graduate study each year. The UW-Madison programs listed this year are: applied mathematics, 14; biological sciences, 12; business, 46; chemistry, 8; computer science, 10; education, 6; engineering, 15; law, 25; mathematics, 13; and medical, 18 in primary care and 31 in research.
\Graduate education continues to be a major strength of UW-Madison, as indicated by many measures,"" said Martin Cadwallader, interim dean of the UW-Madison Graduate School.
Cadwallader, however, stresses that prospective students should consider several factors aside from rankings when selecting a graduate program.
These rankings come as interest in graduate programs is on the rise due to the tight job market.
