Researchers at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory created a three dimensional model to simulate a bioterrorist attack on the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The model was not created in response to any credible threat, but rather to alert officials to what could happen should a threat occur.
The model integrates wind currents through the city and surrounding area as well as buildings and the natural terrain. With all this information provided, the model can then show where the chemicals would spread to and how quickly.
