Pledge debate subject of New Yorker article

The recent controversy about recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in Madison public schools will be analyzed in this week's New Yorker magazine, the Wisconsin State Journal reported Sunday.

According to the State Journal, New Yorker staff writer Mark Singer and a photographer spent several days in Madison preparing for the upcoming piece.

Among those interviewed is Madison School Board member Bill Keys, who is now known for casting the sole vote to keep the pledge out of classrooms when the board reconsidered its decision last month.
