UW-Madison professor warns of possible genocide in Central Africa

The Central African Republic has been in turmoil since a military coup last March left it in political disarray. Now a University of Wisconsin-Madison political science professor says there is “a high risk of massive human rights violations,” which could possibly lead to genocide.

Ron Kind leads effort to end government shutdown

As the government shutdown reaches its second week and Congress’ inability to compromise continues to keep roughly 800,000 federal workers furloughed, U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D–Wis., is working with U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent, R–Pa., to draft a bipartisan bill that would temporarily reopen the government.
