After divergent Olympic journeys, Clark and Pankowski are returning older and wiser for one last shot

In the fall of 2010 a pair of Wisconsin skaters — Hilary Knight and Meghan Duggan — returned to Madison after a year spent chasing Olympic glory and showed the college hockey world just how much they had learned in Vancouver. Eight years later, a new Wisconsin duo are entering their final seasons looking to follow in the same footsteps and lead the Badgers to the national championship that has eluded them.

UW defensive lineman Henningsen earns scholarship

For most on the Badgers’ football roster, this past week was focused on rebounding from their disappointing loss to BYU and preparing to open their Big Ten schedule against rival Iowa. For redshirt freshman defensive lineman Matt Henningsen, that week started with a surprise. UW announced last Monday that junior kicker Zach Hintze and Henningsen — both of whom joined the Badgers as walk-ons — earned scholarships.

Junior wide receiver A.J. Taylor scored the touchdown to put the Badgers up 21-17 over Iowa. UW eventually won 28-17.

Wisconsin bounces back from BYU loss with a 28-17 road win against Iowa

IOWA CITY – Coming off a shocking upset at the hands of the BYU Cougars, the Wisconsin Badgers had to bounce back and focus on a pivotal early season rivalry game against the Iowa Hawkeyes. The No. 18 Badgers (1-0 Big Ten, 3-1 overall) defeated  the Iowa Hawkeyes (0-1, 3-1) 28-17, but it was less a game, more an old Ali-Frazier boxing match with both teams trading blows consistently throughout the night.

Senior nose tackle Olive Sagapolu was listed out for the season before Wisconsin's game before No. 21 Penn State. Junior quarterback Alex Hornibrook is questionable after being in concussion protocol.

Column: Wisconsin needs to find its defensive identity again

Wisconsin’s season took a wrong turn last week. It wasn’t when Rafael Gaglianone sealed the loss by missing a 42-yard field goal with under a minute to play. The Badgers’ season veered off course with 12:20 remaining in the fourth quarter when Cougars’ running back Squally Canada ripped up the home team for a 46-yard run up the middle.

Wisconsin steals a 2-1 overtime win against Maryland

Zack Klancnik’s shirt came off and the party was on. The defender somehow put the ball over the goal line in the 106th minute of the game to give the Wisconsin Badgers men’s soccer team (1-1-0 Big Ten, 3-4-1 overall) a stunning 2-1 victory in double overtime on the road against the Maryland Terrapins (1-1-0, 2-3-2). Junior midfielder Noah Leibold served the ball into the box from about 25 yards away and Klancnik headed the ball.
