Wisconsin’s last home game of the season vs Purdue is a must-win game for the Badgers, as is every game for the rest of the season if they want a chance to beat out Minnesota for the Big Ten West
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and the Badgers have one team in particular to be thankful for as the holiday approaches: the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Minnesota’s undefeated season ended just as they crossed the biggest obstacle to playing at Lucas Oil Stadium in December for the Big Ten Championship.
In the No. 14 Wisconsin Badgers’ 37-21 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Badger offense looked like it finally started to modernize.
This has not been a great year for Purdue Football. The preseason hype around this team centered around head coach Jeff Brohm and All-American receiver Rondale Moore. Brohm, having coached the Boilermakers since 2017, has put this program back into a contending position.
The Desoto, Texas native is undoubtedly the emotional leader of this year’s Badger defense, which has been one of the best in the nation.
Purdue is facing an uphill battle against the Badgers this Saturday, but if it can get huge games out of its key edge rushers, Wisconsin may be given a run for its money.
Ohio State - This is no fun to write. Ohio State is really good, and nobody has an answer for them, they damn well may find themselves with the championship trophy come January. The NCAA sucks for suspending Chase Young though.
In order to shake off last week’s struggles and return to early-season form on Nov. 23 against Purdue, the Wisconsin defensive unit will have to make sure to shut down freshman WR David Bell. With Purdue’s star freshman receiver from last year, Rondale Moore, out since Sept. 28 with a hamstring injury, Bell has had to adapt to a starting position and facing opponents’ #1 cornerback.
We’re getting into the stressful part of college football season and things are getting truly chaotic for some teams. Despite a lack of huge upsets, there were some topsy-turvy things that happened this week that may change how the season turns out. Let’s recap.
Wisconsin’s offense started off hot and kept the Green Bay Phoenix (1-3) at arm’s length as the Badgers (4-1) went wire-to-wire to come away with the 88-70 win.
Meeting for the first time in the 2019-2020 season, No. 2 Wisconsin (6-1-1-0, 12-1-1-0) will take on the St. Cloud State Huskies (3-8-1, 0-8-0-0 WCHA) in conference play.
Snow is falling and the temperature is dropping rapidly — winter has come. Volleyball, spikeball and other summer sports are giving way to skiing and snowboarding.
A day before the Badgers take the field, they make a trip out to the American Family Children’s Hospital. Student-athletes make the trip every Friday as part of the Badger Fridays program in which they give back to the community.
The Wisconsin Badgers (3-1) controlled the court over the Milwaukee Panthers (1-3) Sunday, winning 71-40, following their first loss of the season last Thursday to Colorado.
After beating the Minnesota State (2-5-2-2 WCHA, 6-5-2 overall) 3-2 last night in a tight game, the No. 2 Badgers (5-1-1-0 WCHA, 11-1-1 overall) came out on top today to finish out their weekend series against the Mavericks.
Earning itself a year of bragging rights, Wisconsin (3-1) handed in-state rival Marquette (2-1) its first loss with a score of 77-61. The Golden Eagles fought to keep the game within reach, but after an MVP performance from senior guard Brevin Pritzl, the Wisconsin-Marquette narrative was changed.
The margins between winning and losing are often small, for Wisconsin’s men’s hockey team on Saturday night, they couldn’t have been smaller.
Jonathan Taylor must love when the Cornhuskers come up on the schedule.
