The University of Wisconsin-Madison women’s soccer team started this year strong with a 6-2 record, building on the success they saw last season.
A game filled with mistakes brought the Wisconsin Badgers to demise against the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa last Saturday. Their 38-14 loss was largely a result of sophomore quarterback Danny O’Neil’s interceptions and a surge of costly penalties that extinguished any hope of an upset.
In their first road game and major test, the Wisconsin Badgers fell to the No. 19 Alabama Crimson Tide in disappointing fashion. The game, which never felt close after the first quarter, ended 38-14.

Pairing freshman forward phenomena Dean Boltz with the help of the consistent and formidable attacker Trip Fleming. Boltz led the way with 10 goals and four assists on the season, and Fleming contributed five goals and three assists. Combined, the two were responsible for over half of the Badger’s goals and a third of their assists.
As summer break slowly coms to an end, so will the Wisconsin Badgers’ football program’s opportunity to maximize their recruitment period for 2026.
International students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison founded the university’s first cricket team, the Badger Cricket Club, in 2024. Since then, they jumped onto the scene dominating the field, winning a national title in their first year and adding to the growing popularity of cricket in the United States.
