Softball: Badgers stay hot, sweep Penn State

Just after having its school-record nine-game win streak snapped by Illinois last Sunday, the Wisconsin softball team (11-4 Big Ten, 27-13 overall) has already started another notable streak after sweeping Penn State to push its winning streak to four.

Producing runs has not been a problem this year for the Wisconsin softball team (8-4 Big Ten, 24-13). Last weekend, in a 10-7 shootout win over the Fighting Illini of Illinois, the Badgers were able to generate offense on the back of a school-record six homeruns.

The Wisconsin softball squad (6-3 Big Ten, 22-12 overall) has built a reputation over the past year as being a comeback team. There’s no question that the Badgers reinforced this fact Tuesday night against Western Illinois (13-12 Summit League, 22-18 overall).

After a successful spring break the Wisconsin softball team (6-3 Big Ten, 20-12 overall) closes out a five-game home stand at Goodman Diamond with a doubleheader against the Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks (12-3 Summit League, 22-16 overall).


Softball: Badgers earn sweep of rival Minnesota

In the past, most Wisconsin softball teams would have been unable to surmount a large lead in the closing innings of a game. However, this year’s Badgers (6-3 Big Ten, 20-12 overall) are carrying a different attitude and swagger under second year head coach Yvette Healy.
