Evil triumphs: Fasano’s ‘stache gone

Evil comes in many forms. Dictators and vampires are evil. Gopher fans are close. Yet, there is one form of evil so disgusting, so haunting and so harrowing that even those hurt by it, are too fearful to speak up against it. The evil I speak of most likely sits in his huge leather throne, lighting his cigars and chuckling as his malevolence seeps through a metropolis.

Men’s, women’s cross country victorious

The Wisconsin men's cross country team began their 2006 campaign to repeat as national champions in winning fashion, taking first in the Pioneer Harrier Invitational this past weekend. The women's team also won the Pioneer Harrier Invitational and started off their season on the right foot. The race was hosted by Carroll College in Waukesha, Wis.

Mercury a global health problem

Madison residents are no strangers to mercury contamination in fish, a result of the high mercury levels present in Lake Monona. However, the global extent of mercury pollution is less widely-advertised. In August, the International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant met at the Monona Terrace and ratified a declaration claiming that reducing mercury use and emissions are necessary steps to lowering the health risks associated with the element and its compounds.

Lack of urgency causes mistakes for Badger football

MATC, UW collaborate to build biodiesel reactor

Madison Area Technical College recently ordered and received a biodiesel reactor. The reactor will be used to educate MATC students in the production and use of biodiesel fuels, and to promote biodiesel awareness around the state. To find their reactor MATC looked no further than UW-Madison.
