Reader of the Day: Alyssa Lochen

Alyssa Lochen is a sophomore majoring in zoology and spanish. Her job experience includes intubating anorexic Canadian geese and digging up dinosaur bones in Wyoming. Since then, Alyssa's become interested in developing a dinosaur theme park in Latin America. Her Spanish skills will be useful in conversing with the locals, but not so useful in stopping the dinosaurs from eating Jeff Goldblum and Samuel L. Jackson.

There are few works of art that can address societal evils and still manage to be insanely fun. The wildly popular, Tony Award-winning Broadway musical ""Hairspray"" has perfected the formula. Based upon John Waters' 1988 film of the same name and on tour since its 2002 debut as a musical, ""Hairspray"" is a work of art that seamlessly lambastes society while plastering dopey smiles across audiences' faces.
