Don’t rain on the Parade: MCR’s new album their best

The third album from the pop-punk group My Chemical Romance, The Black Parade, marks an ambitious progression for the band as they experiment with old-school pop and transcend the idea of mere ""punk."" This New Jersey group surpasses 2004's Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge with a new, edgier, theatrical sound. MCR have shown a mature side that was not as apparent in their last three albums. Fans and new listeners of MCR will not be disappointed with the variety of incredible songs.

""Catch a Fire"" likely won't tell any educated person anything they don't already know about South African apartheid, but it's a powerful film nonetheless. There's a scene where Patrick Chamusso (Derek Luke) screams in anguish at his white captors, telling them whatever they want to hear, and it's an utterly believable, hellish moment. Yes, this movie tries to be about a great historical struggle. Yet it centers on one man doing what he needs to do to stand up for himself and his family.
