Turnovers fuel No. 7 Badgers in rout of Fighting Illini

For the first five and a half minutes of the game, the Illinois Fighting Illini (2-5 Big Ten, 3-7 overall) were right in it against the No. 7 Wisconsin Badgers (5-2, 8-2). Then UW scored touchdowns on four-straight drives and cruised to a 48-3 win on homecoming night. The game was more-or-less decided by halftime as Wisconsin went to the locker room with a 31-3 lead.

Musso anchors Badger defense despite anonymity

This season, Wisconsin’s defense has been in a constant state of flux. With players getting injured and coming back from injury, and some going from hot to cold in a heartbeat, finding consistency has been difficult. Senior safety Leo Musso, however, has been about as consistent as it gets.

Badgers win at Northwestern for first time since 1999

Overlooked in the Wisconsin Badgers’ (3-2 Big Ten, 6-2 overall) ugly overtime win over the No. 7 Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-1, 7-1) was a historic performance by redshirt senior running back Dare Ogunbowale. The backup only carried the ball 11 times, but his 10.9-yard average for 120 total yards on those runs was the highest per-carry average for a Wisconsin running back in a game (min.

Badgers upset No. 7 Nebraska in overtime barnburner

While not as highly anticipated as Wisconsin’s night game against Ohio State two weeks ago, and while the matchup Nebraska felt similar to that OSU game, this time Wisconsin held on to beat a Top 10 team, winning 23-17. Wisconsin opened up the scoring halfway through the first with a two-play, 51-yard drive capped off by a 21-yard rush by redshirt freshman running back Bradrick Shaw.
