Redshirt senior left tackle Rick Wagner stressed earlier this week that the offensive line wanted to see more run plays called. He thought the linemen were losing their identity after their dismal performance at Oregon State. Even offensive coordinator Matt Canada said the team “got off track” during the loss.

If you look at poll numbers, pundit columns and anywhere else in the news, you know now is the golden age of Bill Clinton. According to Gallup polling, 69 percent of Americans view him “favorably.” Clinton’s Democratic National Convention speech was the most “ooh-ed” and “ahh-ed” over, leading to people wanting him to be “Secretary of Explaining Stuff.” Even many Republicans, including Mitt Romney, have been caught testifying of the 42nd president’s greatness.

Ed Sheeran has only been in the U.S. on his current tour for three days, but his journey to this point has been a lengthy one. A hefty handful of EPs between 2005 and 2010, dropping out of school to pursue music and playing any possible gig led to Sheeran signing with Asylum Records under Atlantic Records, and the British singer/songwriter is now a household name.

It’s been over half a year since I wrote my first letter condemning the international community’s abandonment of the freedom-seeking Syrian opposition. This article comes over a week after I first saw the pictures of nearly 50 executed children, all at the age of 10 or younger. It’s been over 15 months now and over 13,000 people are dead; all the UN can do is send an embarrassing amount of peacekeepers, to pretend as if they are doing something, as if the Arab League had not already done nothing.

The semester may be reaching its end, but the beginning of the semester when Andrea Smith just joined the UW-Madison CollegeFashionista Style Guru team seems like yesterday. Smith is far from her home in Tampa, Florida, but loves Madison. She is pursuing a degree in Art History and currently exploring certificate options.

The end is nigh. In only two excruciatingly short weeks I’ll be graduating from the Badger state’s finest institution of higher learning, finally earning that elusive descriptor of “real adult”—or more likely just “that depressed guy who drinks at the Union all day and pretends he’s still a student here, drowning his delusions in pint after pint of Spotted Cow.”

So I’m sitting here on Sunday afternoon, trying to rehydrate after a night spent with generous and thirsty alumni from my favorite student organization, eating Spongebob Mac n’ Cheese and watching “Eat, Pray, Love.” Typical.

Let’s get the obvious out of the way first: That video was bad.

And so the countdown begins. In less than one month, I will graduate from my beloved University of Wisconsin-Madison. This reality has lead to a comprehensive slew of emotions, among them being displeasure with life’s general fleetingness. I have found the best way to deal with these circumstances is to live in the moment as best I can and focus on why I have loved UW so much: the people. Please allow me to tell you about one in particular.

I don’t think there’s anybody who would disagree that UW-Madison has earned a strong progressive reputation. That is why I think the university’s continuing bad business practices, particularly involving alleged adidas’ improper compensation practicses, is especially damaging to its reputation.
