American folk rock band The Lumineers released their latest album Brightside on Jan. 14. Prior to the album release, they released three singles in 2021, teasing the album. The album has nine songs and spans 30 minutes. Written by Lumineer co-founders Jeremiah Fraites and lead singer, Wesley Schultz, the band considers it their “best album yet.”

Before I saw them live, I wasn’t really a big fan of SURFACES. While I knew and enjoyed a few of their hit songs, like “Sunday Best,” “24 / 7 / 365” and “Heaven Falls / Fall on Me,” SURFACES’ music isn’t something that I’d ever voluntarily put on.

Despite my vegetarianism and general disdain for fishing in real life, I’ve somehow always been in love with the feeling of reeling in a virtual fish in a game. Not in those rugged, story-absent games like Big Bass Fishing, but through classic cozier games in the vein of Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing or Minecraft. Naturally, then, I was thrilled when Bunnyhug Studios announced Moonglow Bay, a game that finally takes the fishing theme of older games and makes it palatable for people like me, who wouldn’t step within 6 feet of a fishing rod in real life.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison saw its student-voter turnout for the 2020 presidential election rise to 72.8%, up from 65.4% in 2016. According to the Institute for Democracy & Higher Education (IDHE), UW-Madison’s voting rate was higher than the 66% rate of all other colleges.

Maybe I’m writing this article because I’ve hit the point in the semester where the honeymoon phase of romanticizing how great my classes are and how easy they will be is over. Maybe I’m writing this essay because I'm at the age where one begins to question if their education will ever pay off. But most likely I’m writing this essay as a lazy college student who doesn’t look forward to working five days a week in a structured setting to only have two days off to fit our “life” into.
