The University of Wisconsin-Madison will begin construction on the “Divine Nine” plaza this spring. The plaza will be located in the garden space across from the Walgreens on East Campus Mall, and it will be unveiled as a tribute to the Divine Nine in early May.

The elections for the President of the Italian Republic have never drawn much attention. Unlike in the American government, the head of the state acts more as a nonpartisan defender of democratic institutions, having almost no executive power but a say in the constitutions of the government.

The University of Wisconsin Police Department and Madison police are currently investigating a rise in harassment geared toward female students on State Street, Langdon Street and its surrounding area that occurred over the last week. Authorities believe that only one person is involved, according to UWPD Director of Communications Marc Lovicott.

The sports world was buzzing Sunday afternoon when Michigan men’s basketball head coach Juwan Howard became aggressive in the handshake line following a 77-63 Wolverines loss at the hands of the Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin’s Coach Gard attempted to shake Howard’s hand as well as explain the timeout that caused the Fab Five member’s frustration, prompting Howard to grab Gard before ultimately reaching over several mediators to slap Badgers assistant coach Joe Krabbenhoft.

British pop rock band Bastille released their fourth studio album Give Me the Future on Feb. 4. The new album, somewhat similar thematically to Doom Days, deals with the idea of escapism, the future and the question of what is real and what is fake. Executive produced by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, the overall sound of the album could be described as futuristic synth-pop.

Campus morale was high on Sunday after the Wisconsin men's basketball team defeated Minnesota by a score of 66-60. After an afternoon of celebration, just before midnight, a restful night of sleep was evaded when Camp Randall’s fire alarm went off. Following hours of speculation, it is now known that the alarm was set off after Bucky Badger forgot to take the traditional post-win gopher he planned to eat out of the oven, filling the air with smoke.
