Wisconsin football (3-2 Big Ten, 5-3 overall) prepares to host Rutgers (0-5, 1-7) in an underwhelming matchup on Saturday. Rutgers, on a deep losing streak and without a single conference win, does not have much to offer in terms of competition for the Badgers.

Much like a pancake that “got away," the games in the Big Ten conference were lopsided and unpleasing to most people. Blowouts seemed to be the agreed upon game plan this weekend. It was a rare moment when even the fans of the winning team are left wanting more.

A loved one of mine is going through a tough time with a substance abuse problem. They’re headed to rehab, where they’re going to suffer withdrawal. I have been trying to avoid many questions, but I would really like to understand why withdrawal happens, and what it entails. Does withdrawal happen with all forms of addiction, or just drugs and alcohol and stuff? Why does withdrawal feel so terrible, and why does it last as a short a time as it does? I’ve read that addicts are addicts for life, but it kind of seems like going through withdrawal should mean that they’re back to normal, sort of. I know that’s not true, but why isn’t it true? Thanks in advance for your help, experts!

I'm thinking about buying a term paper. I've been under a ton of stress lately, and while I've worked really hard to keep my grades up and focus on improving my essays, I just don't feel like I have time to write this one and do the kind of work I actually have do on it. So I'm going to buy it, I think — you know, go on one of those websites where you can buy pre-written ones, or whatever.

As summer finally begins to wind down, college kids across the country start gearing up for the semester. For some, like the seniors and others who just do not care, this may not be a big deal. They might be waiting until the night before to begin throwing things into boxes.

As you enter into the realm of college life, you’re filled with anxiety, jubilation and excitement. What exactly is college going to be like? I typically listen to The National while writing, like right now, letting lead vocalist Matt Berninger’s baritone lull me into focus in the background. At their performance last Tuesday, though, Berninger pulled me into his show, his intensity tangible as he sang like he was sharing the song with the person it’s about for the first time.

I love cars, and I’m pretty handy with them. I have an old car that I’ve been working on since high school, and it runs pretty well, if I may say so myself. However, it’s not the most popular car in the world: my family, my friends, and especially my girlfriend are not fans. They say it’s an eyesore, and I have to admit they’re right. I didn’t do a great job of painting it (yep, I did that myself, too!), and the interior is a disaster. It’s dirty, and it’s ugly, and I know that. However, I’m not keeping this car forever. What’s the big deal? It runs fine, so I’m inclined to just keep it as it is until I sell it, if I can find a way to explain my position to my family, friends, and girlfriend! Any suggestions?

Someday, I’d like to buy a house. That’s because I know that buying a house is more cost-effective than renting a house or apartment--plus, I just think it would be nice to own my own space and be able to renovate it and stuff like that. I know that part of the reason this is a good idea is that my home can increase in value over time. Except, I don’t understand why that is.

I’m pretty good at what I do, and I’m very excited to be heading out into the working world soon. But one thing that I do not do — and am very much not good at — is finance stuff. I don’t get it!

I could use some last-minute help researching an assignment for my public health class. Last Thursday, everyone received a random notecard with a different public health crisis on it. We were each given a week to research the topic and present it in seven to ten minutes, plus a three to five-minute audience question and answer session.
