The journey to the apex of hockey video games has been the most
fascinating voyage in which I've ever taken part. Starting with
Sega Genesis 2 and moving onto Playstation and then Playstation 2,
I saw the peaks and valleys of NHL video games. But the final
destination of NHL 2008 for Xbox 360 has made that trip well worth
it.

Britney Spears' new album Blackout is exactly what you would
expect from the once-talented pop princess: a lot of pointless
tracks with techno beats and effects used to cover up the terrible
singing and questionable song writing.

Following Neil Young's previous release, Living With War, which
was filled with social and political influences, Chrome Dreams II
is an attempt to go back to the old Young, as Ralph Molina (of
Crazy Horse) joins him in the studio to record for the first time
in years. Despite this reunion, it is clear that Young will never
recapture the energy and intensity his youth brought, and as a
result he struggles to clear the barrier of mediocrity.

Characterized by its gentle colors and dreamy soft shapes,
watercolor is not the first medium many would associate with
depictions of violent and severe conflicts. As the Madison
Watercolor Society so adeptly illustrates in their latest exhibit
at the Overture Center, titled Borders and Barriers,"" watercolor
is more than capable. The society, founded in 1983, opened the
exhibit on Oct. 22, showcasing a variety of local artists'
meditations on what barriers and borders are in their own lives.

Hello, Avalanche, the latest album from The Octopus Project, is
proof that you don't need lyrics to communicate. The Octopus
Project is an Austin, Texas based instrumental band that uses a
wide variety of instruments, including the exceptionally rare
theremin, to communicate in their own unique way.

Techno, or our generation's disco, has its many detractors. It
is often derided as repetitive, rigid, simplistic and listenable
only to those taking high doses of drugs. And for the most part, it
is all this. But, there is rhyme and reason to this madness. For
some, the throbbing backbeat is used as a siren's call to lure
listeners to the dance floor. For other artists, the broad
soundscapes electronica has to offer lend a platform to relax and
mystify audiences. A positive mix of both ends of the spectrum is
what Underworld strive to accomplish on Oblivion With Bells, their
fifth studio album.

Sometimes it's easy to predict the future. If you touch O.J.
Simpson's sports collectibles, he's probably going to freak out.

Ever since the age of 14, when I peaked athletically by hitting
puberty before the rest of my track team, my enthusiasm for
strenuous exercise has trended downward. I'll still run to beat a
red light but I don't think I've got what it takes to run laps on a
track anymore, even if someone is firing a pistol into the
air.

Many who read this review won't recognize the name Pete
Seeger."" But when an acoustic version of the folk music legend's
""Turn, Turn, Turn!"" begins playing over the opening scrawl of
""Pete Seeger: The Power of Song,"" even those of us too young to
remember the man at his peak will feel the energy his work
channeled into the folk music revival of the 1950s and '60s. While
the film was made for those whose college years were filled with
his music and his political activism, this documentary serves as an
excellent account of cultural history that will bring out the inner
flower child in 21st century college students.

When the 2007 schedule came out for the Wisconsin football team,

Badger fan. However, the way the first two weeks unfolded has taken
many by surprise.

After indulging myself in HBO's Hard Knocks,"" I have come to
two realizations: The NFL depth chart is the most scrutinized
aspect of the sports world, and it is a near impossibility that the
time spent altering a team's depth chart eclipses the amount of
time I have spent modifying my class schedule.

In 1980 at the Louisiana Super Dome, Roberto Duran had enough.

Sugar Ray Leonard—their second of three memorable fights—Duran put
up his glove in a sign of admitting defeat. ""A¡No MA¡s! A¡No
MA¡s!"" he screamed.

Most 21-year-olds can't say they have their own music on iTunes
or were the only act playing at Summerfest at one time. However,
local musician Ari Herstand has achieved both of these things and
is growing in popularity in Madison and Minneapolis, where he plays
most of his shows. Herstand recently released his sophomore solo
album, One Take, which showcases his unique ""folk hop"" genre that
sounds unlike anything you've ever heard.
