Seeing iLoveMakonnen for the first time live was a sobering experience. I am ashamed to admit that I know almost every lyric from each song on his mixtapes “Drink More Water 4” and “Drink More Water 5.” No, I am not from Atlanta, and no, I do not move bricks of cocaine as my day job, but there’s something electrifying in jumping up and down while belting lyrics that have no relevancy in my daily life. So when he appeared at the Green Stage at Pitchfork Music Festival this summer, I readily buried my thoughts about how I would feel about this music in even 10 years and sang every song I knew.

After all the AP exams taken, cover letters written and applications filled out, you’ve finally made it here to the University of Wisconsin. Welcome!

Although he is now six semesters and three single apartments removed from University Housing, UW-Madison senior Kyle Hinckley still feels highly disadvantaged because of his freshman dorm location in UW’s Lakeshore area.

Obvious statement: the Angels regret giving Josh Hamilton $125 million. They paid a king’s ransom for three mediocre, injury-plagued seasons and a whole lot of (semi-deserved) bad press. Pro tip to Arte Moreno: Don’t “Mean Girls” a recovering drug addict while trying to use a contract clause that doesn’t exist to recoup money you freely gave to him knowing the risk associated. You’d think they’d teach that in billionaire class.

It’s been a hot minute since Speedy Ortiz last hit Madison; or, more specifically, just a few months short of a year since they demolished Live on King Street, opening for tUnE-yArDs. The appearance felt like a bit of a victory lap after the release of 2013’s triumphant Major Arcana and 2014’s equally massive “Real Hair” EP, but it wasn’t the first time they had played the city.

It’s no secret that Corey Clement is going to be the star of Wisconsin football next year. He’s already got four multi-touchdown games under his belt, and has a career average of seven yards per carry. That’s a higher rushing average than James White, Montee Ball and John Clay. Everyone’s waiting with bated breath to see what he will do, and that’s a lot of pressure.

Back in August 2014 I attended one of UW-Madison’s many welcome week events, The Understudies Improv show. I happened to sit next to three random guys whom, after asking me if I knew how to sing, identified themselves as Mike Fuller, Vinnie Biskupic and David Grube, all singers in Fundamentally Sound. As a week-old freshman I was completely unaware of the tremendous support, love and following this group experiences. But over the course of this past year that has completely changed and I had no idea how much this a cappella group would be a part of my freshman year.

Multiple callers reported hearing shots in the Park Street and Regent Street area in the early hours of Sunday morning, but responding Madison Police Department officers could not find any evidence supporting the reports.

INDIANAPOLIS—Wisconsin is loose. They enter a pregame press conference already in a fit of giggles, and eventually pull the rest of the media in with them. It’s at the point where even head coach Bo Ryan is cracking jokes, worrying his guys are “too tense.”

Mobility is a privilege that the majority of us take advantage of in every waking moment of our lives right now. Strolling the streets with pumpkin spice something, jogging in winters that seem inappropriate, even running through the six (or to catch the six) with our collective woes.

UW-Madison students can bite into the world’s largest Rice Krispies Treat as the student organization, Project Freshman 15,000, attempts to hit the Guinness Book of World Records’ sweet spot for the title.

As the warm air finally found it’s way to Madison everyone came out of hibernation. Between the Big Ten tournament hype and wonderful weather on the Terrace everybody was looking to take to the streets at night, but if you weren’t headed to Union South Friday night you missed out on a good show. Mod Sun based out of Bloomington, Minnesota brought his crew of rappers in the good old RV as part of their “Look Up” tour. It was hard not to like the vibes rolling through the crowd the entire night with the hippy-hop that was going on. Some kid's mom was even in the back of the crowd jamming the entire show.

Sunday. The day of rest never seems to live up to expectations. For me, it usually includes relentlessly avoiding my homework for hours, consuming copious amounts of peanut butter cups, always followed by the crippling realization that it’s 10 p.m. and I have accomplished next to nothing all day. I always have to pay for my Sundays later in the week, which usually results in very long nights doing the mindless assignments that I had previously deemed a “waste of my weekend” and subsequently refused to complete them until the night before they’re due.

If you didn’t recognize him from “Saturday Night Live” fame, it'd be easy to mistake Pete Davidson as just another college kid: he took the Fredric March Play Circle stage Thursday night in a flannel shirt, worn-out tennis shoes and with posture that would make any mother cringe.

The first day of a new semester always holds so much promise. If I’m going to be honest with myself, I was excited to have a fresh start. First semester was certainly a learning experience, and now, as a second semester freshman, I was sure that I knew everything there was to know about college.

Though the transition into college is tough for many freshmen, Marianna Rivera’s move to UW-Madison was especially isolating. She grew up in Chicago in a drastically different community climate.
