Much of our friendship is built on long nights of binge-watching, never-ending conversations and the whistling of the tea kettle. In fact, the start of our relationship was in sophomore year of high school with the simple question: Have you ever seen “Sherlock?”

Yes, it’s true. It’s already been a week since we bid a finale farewell to “The Good Place.” But no, I haven’t stopped the warm, gooey feeling in my heart or the tears falling from my eyes.

While not your typical rock show, the Overture Center hosted a celebration of Pink Floyd and their wildly controversial album, The Wall this past weekend. The performers were not draped in elaborate costumes, the set bare of any projections of the Berlin Wall or expected wartime propaganda, but the performance certainly did not stray from the original composition.

If you’re anything like me, you want every asset of your life to align with the season. Summer is full of trap music, electronic bops and even a little country. This past Saturday night Rebecca Gonzalez-Smith, a first-year student at UW-Madison, was preparing to go out for the night. Nearly one week after she moved into her dorm room in Sellery Hall, and on the night after the first home football game, Rebecca was eager to go out with her new friends and experience the weekend scene. Yelling loudly and traveling in a pack of at least twelve other people, Rebecca and her friends made their way over to Langdon St where they were permitted entrance into a fraternity house.

After last week’s somewhat rushed and disappointing episode, HBO aired one of the best episodes of “Game of Thrones” by a long shot this Sunday. Two weeks ago director Miguel Sapochnik gave us “The Long Night,” the giant battle at Winterfell against the Army of the Dead, which brought the remaining characters together to fight for their lives in a spectacular array of CGI and fantasy spectacles. Now he directed “The Bells,” an episode that not only shocked audiences and delivered stunning action but was rooted in powerful, emotional suspense that honored its complex characters.

This all happens alongside releasing a variety of music, including a non-album single, a cover of “Stayin’ Alive” tied-into “Happy Death Day 2 U” and the lead single for her major-label debut.
