Unlike the children who spend at least five minutes crafting their
Christmas lists to Santa, Governor-elect Scott Walker did not spend
much time thinking through his wish list to Gov. Doyle. Last week,
Gov.-elect Walker sent a letter current Gov. Doyle's administration
with list of requests. Besides the fact that giving a list of
policy demands to a sitting governor is unprecedented and arguably
unconstitutional, Walker's letter to Doyle is uneducated, arrogant
and makes requests that undoubtedly harm Wisconsin's growth and
economy. His list includes a ""freeze"" of any federal health-care
bill implementations, suspending employee contracts, hiring new
civil service positions and a vague message insisting a shift to
natural gas from biofuel at the Charter Street Heating Plant.

The great political wrangling of 2010 has drawn to a close, and the
results are in: Wisconsin bit the big one. The state voted out its
beloved progressive Sen. Russ Feingold in favor of some rich dude
from Oshkosh. You know, the one without a platform. We voted in
Scott Walker as Governor, the über-conservative Milwaukee county
executive with a faux-folksy brown bag campaign and his cross-hairs
set on rolling back Wisconsin's progressive heritage when it comes
to comprehensive sex education and LGBT and reproductive
rights.

Chances are, if you go to school at Central Washington University
or Ramapo College in New Jersey, ""getting Loko"" is banned.
Recently, both schools have had major issues with the relatively
new and very alcoholic beverage called Four Loko. As a result of
the drink's effects, around 30 people have ended up in the
hospital, which police blame on the drink's combined
ingredients.

Hypothetical tweet: ""I'm on the tallest mountain in the world,
check out this funny video I just found on YouTube!"" A tweet of
this nature may cause you to ask how anyone could be watching
YouTube on Mt. Everest. Well, now that 3G wireless coverage towers
have officially been installed at the 16,994 feet above sea level
base camp of Mt. Everest, connecting to the Internet and chatting
with friends while braving avalanches is now possible.

In their last chance to win over Wisconsin voters in a debate
setting, both Milwaukee-based gubernatorial candidates not only
reiterated their plans for economic development but attacked each
other's track record on running the state's biggest city.

In the senatorial race between Republican candidate Ron Johnson and
Democratic U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., the choice for who
would best serve Wisconsin is clear. While Johnson may feel
confident about the GOP tilt in the upcoming election, Feingold's
rich political experience and maverick status spotlight him as the
best candidate for the seat he has successfully held for the last
three terms—earning our endorsement.

Note to readers: Refer back to this column after celebrating your
Halloween weekend. You may indeed find these scenarios eerily
familiar. Madison Freakfest does have the tendency to create such a
feeling.

Wisconsin faces a projected $2.7 billion deficit. To balance the
budget, we need a governor who not only knows how to cut spending,
but who knows where to make smart, sustainable cuts. That is why we
endorse Tom Barrett for governor.

The choice between sitting Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen and his
opponent Scott Hassett was not a difficult one. Van Hollen has
effectively been campaigning not to receive our endorsement for the
last four years. His list of accomplishments is less impressive
than Joe Pesci's in ""My Cousin Vinny."" He dropped the ball on
Calumet County's ""sexting"" District Attorney Ken Kratz, who Van
Hollen's office allowed to waft around courtrooms for months
following allegations of sexual harassment. Last year the Wisconsin
Department of Justice misplaced thousands of DNA samples, leading
to the possibility of up to 3,000 convicted felons walking free
when they should have been in jail.

will make you think. One that Judd, who plays the leading role of
Wendla, has had first hand, both on and off the stage.

As of today, I have 895 friends on Facebook. I also have an
embarrassing number of pictures—864, to be exact—dating from my
15th birthday up until this very weekend. Furthermore, if one were
to explore my listed information, he would find multiple e-mail
addresses, a list of my favorite music and movies and even a vague
description of my political and religious beliefs. To the right of
my profile, I see advertisements for sperm donors, Nature Valley
granola bars, ""FIFA 11"", and ""Pimped Out Housing at UW.""
