In a conversation between Fox News commentators on the show “The Five,” they discussed how college enrollment dropped 10% from its pre-pandemic levels. They attribute this to college students being lazy, universities being too “woke” and college not looking as fun anymore. After a weekend where Wisconsin showed they could skate with a top opponent in Michigan, they followed with a weekend that can only be described as embarrassing. Playing against conference opponents is motivating enough, but when the conference opponent is archrival Minnesota, the Badgers’ weekend performance becomes unacceptable.

If playing in close games was in style, Wisconsin would be leaders of the trend. In yet another overtime game, the Badgers pulled out a gritty win, as they took down the high-powered Iowa Hawkeyes on the road, 78-75. Now boasting a 2-0 Big Ten record, the Badgers are finally cracking the AP Top 25, picking up the No. 22 rank after Sunday’s win.

Badger Film Group, a local Madison-based film group, is set to premiere its latest project and first feature film, “Watch Out,” at the Marquee Theater in the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Union South on Thursday. There truly is nothing like Big Ten basketball. So far in this young season, the Big Ten is shaping up to be one of the best conferences in the country, as it is year after year. Going into Tuesday night’s game against Maryland, the Badgers were considered near the bottom of the conference. But, after upsetting the No. 13 Terrapins 64-59 at the Kohl Center, it’s safe to say Wisconsin is ready to defend last season’s regular season title.

The Alliant Energy Center was a popular destination for Madisonians looking for a night out on Friday, Dec. 2. The arena was nearly full by the time the show kicked off, with seats packed all the way to the back of the venue. The double-feature tour that passed through Madison brings together two unassuming acts — bro-country star Brantley Gilbert and metal legends Five Finger Death Punch.
