Wisconsin volleyball players Carter Booth and Mimi Colyer were drafted by the Dallas Pulse of Major League Volleyball on Nov. 24. Colyer, an outside hitter, was drafted No. 1 overall while Booth, a middle blocker, was drafted in the third round.
After transferring to Wisconsin for her senior year, Colyer has continued to rewrite history for the Badgers. She recently passed Sarah Franklin for most kills in a conference season (308) after Wisconsin’s win over Iowa last week.
Colyer now sits at 451 total kills this season with a .332 hitting percentage. The three-time All-American has played in all but one set this season with the Badgers. Defensively, Colyer has recorded 179 digs and 59 blocks.
As the team’s leading middle blocker, Booth also has impressive defensive stats. 95 block assists and 10 solo blocks has pushed Booth into the best season of her collegiate career. She hit 500 blocks in late September, only nine games into the regular season.
Despite the focus on defensive returns, Booth has kept her hitting percentage high, and she’ll head into the final competitions of the season at .435%.
With this draft, Booth and Colyer became Wisconsin’s 40th and 41st players to go on to play professional volleyball.
The Dallas Pulse are North Texas’ first women’s professional volleyball team. Debuting in the 2026 season, the team plays at the Comerica Center in Frisco.
