Breaking: Badger wide receiver arrested during Mifflin Street Block Party

Wisconsin football player Markus Allen was detained during the annual block party in Madison, according to a report from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Markus Allen was arrested on unknown charges Saturday during the Mifflin Street Block Party, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

University of Wisconsin-Madison Athletics is aware of the situation and “currently in the process of gathering information,” a representative from the department told NBC15.

The Madison Police Department reported 44 arrests from the annual end-of-semester party as of 6 p.m. Saturday, including “an adult male who had a stolen handgun in his backpack.”

Allen, a redshirt sophomore from Dayton, Ohio, has played a total of nine games so far for the Badgers in his three-year career, according to the official Wisconsin Athletics website.

Allen entered the transfer portal near the end of the 2022 season but withdrew in December after Luke Fickell was announced as head coach, according to Sports Illustrated.

This is a developing story.
