BREAKING: UWPD issues warning to students following armed robbery near E. Campus Mall and W. Johnson Street

The alert is UWPD’s second warning for an armed robbery on Thursday following an earlier incident on South Park Street.

Update: UWPD issues an all-clear at 9:52  

The University of Wisconsin Police Department issued a warning for students to avoid the E. Campus Mall and W. Johnson St. area following an armed robbery at approximately 9:00 p.m. Friday night.

UWPD describes the suspect as a six-foot-tall male with a black ski mask, glasses and a long blue jacket. The alert notes that the suspect is likely armed. 

Police remain at the scene of the robbery and are encouraging people to avoid the area. 

UWPD previously issued a warning earlier Thursday evening following a separate armed robbery incident at 301 S. Park Street.
