With a few minor reductions along the way, the Student Services Finance Committee voted to grant the Campus Women’s Center their $71,911.50 operating budget for the 2019-’20 biennium in an unanimous vote Monday.
The Campus Women’s Center is an organization that works to combat the oppressions women experience on campus through support services, education and outreach. It underspent its budget in the previous two budget cycles, which is one of the reasons SSFC voted to lower their funding this year.
“Generally, I feel pretty good about this budget,” said Rep. Cooper Beckwith. “I think it will be good we are bringing it down just a little bit more; this will leave room in the group for growth.”
