Madison police search for suspects in homicide

One person was killed and another injured with non-life threatening injuries early Tuesday at 7436 Mineral Point Road, outside of O’Grady’s Irish Pub, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

Several men entered the pub and then left a short period later. That’s when a disturbance occurred outside and several shots were fired, according to the report.

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office said the murder victim’s identity was Martez Moore, 30. They also noted he died from “homicidal firearm trauma.” The second victim has been released from the hospital with a “glancing wound to the head.”

The report said MPD believes there are multiple witnesses to what transpired during the disturbance, but have not cooperated with the investigation. Police have no suspects.

MPD has set up a command post at the West District station. Members from the Gang Unit, Task Force and Violent Crime Unit and MPD detectives are assisting in the investigation.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and that anyone with information on the incident should call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
