A new Festival Foods grocery store will open April 8 at 810 E. Washington Ave.
The Madison location will be Festival Foods’ 22nd in Wisconsin. It will offer organic foods, fresh sushi and a hot food and salad bar, according to the company’s website.
The store will also feature a community conference room, a seating area and a room providing supervised in-store child care.
President and CEO Mark Skogen, whose grandparents founded the first Festival Foods in Onalaska in 1946, said the company is “honored” to become a part of the Madison community.
“We are excited about the opportunity to offer Madison guests value-driven pricing, a wide selection that includes healthy choices, and a great shopping experience,” Skogen said in a release on Festival Foods’ official blog.
The new location is expected to employ approximately 200 people. Festival Foods will host open interviews for a variety of part-time and full-time jobs in early March.
