Madison man arrested for driving the wrong way down highway while intoxicated

A Madison man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a low-speed crash near Dane County Regional Airport Friday afternoon.

Frank DiMartino, 55, was seen driving in the wrong direction down Highway 51, according to a Madison Police Department incident report. An MPD officer on routine patrol then witnessed his SUV collide with a car sitting at a red light. No one was injured.

DiMartino was arrested for operating while intoxicated, as well as for driving the wrong way down a divided highway and operating while revoked.

Police found multiple cans of keyboard duster on the floor of DiMartino’s car and inside his pockets, according to the report. DiMartino told officers he did not drink any of the contents, but he failed a field sobriety test administered at the scene.

This was DiMartino’s seventh arrest for impaired driving.
