Saturday game day results in fewer citations, infractions

Saturday’s game against Illinois saw an overall decrease in the number of citations and ejections in comparison to the previous home game, UW-Madison police said in a release.

Overall arrests fell from 25 to 19 since the last home game, while UW-Madison student arrests rose from 14 to 16. Student citations also increased from 14 to 16.

Citations for underage alcohol fell from 23 to 18 since the last home game. Additionally, the highest preliminary breath sample overall fell from .301 to .292.

Ejections fell from 55 to 39 overall, but the number of student ejections saw little marked change, dropping from 22 to 21.

The leading reason for student ejections was underage alcohol use, followed by alcohol possession in the stadium.

Ambulance transports increased Saturday, while paramedic calls fell from 17 to 11.

No instances of trespassing or theft occurred during Saturday’s game, while UWPD reported such infractions in the previous game.
