Unconscious battery victim found Friday morning near State Street

Madison Police Department officers found an unconscious battery victim just off State Street early Friday morning, according to an MPD incident report.

Police found the victim near the intersection of North Frances and Langdon Streets. A witness claimed one man held the 22-year-old Madison man as another assailant delivered punches and kicks at approximately 1:50 a.m., according to the report by MPD spokesperson Joel DeSpain.

Shortly after police arrived, the man regained consciousness but did not want to provide the officers with any information. Therefore, MPD is not currently looking for a suspect. The victim also refused medical treatment.
