Man arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest

Madison police responded to a call from the Red Rock Saloon shortly after a patron began causing a disturbance in the bar April 12.

Justin Smith, a 27-year-old from Waunakee, was urinating on the outdoor patio of Red Rock Saloon, located at 322 W. Johnson St., when staff members tried to remove him from the premises, according to Madison Police Department Officer Howard Payne in an incident report.

Smith attempted to fight the staff members after they confronted him. Payne said in the report that Smith proceeded to harass other patrons and employees before bouncers had to restrain Smith on the ground until police arrived.

Police arrived to the scene at approximately 10:30 p.m., when they arrested Smith. According to the report, Smith kicked and grabbed officers when they attempted to put him in their squad car. Police said Smith continued to argue with them after he was detained and placed in Dane County Jail.

Smith was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting an officer.
