West Gilman, West Dayton street closures to begin Friday

The 400 blocks of West Gilman and West Dayton Streets will close starting Friday, March 28 at 7 a.m. due to separate construction projects.

All through-traffic will be prohibited on the 400 block of West Gilman Street between University Avenue and State Street until 5 p.m. Friday.

JH Findorff and subcontractors will pour concrete for the HUB development project, according to the release.

Two-way traffic from North Broom Street will be permitted for access to businesses and residences on the east end of West Gilman Street during the 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. closure.

Additionally, through-traffic on the 400 block of West Dayton Street will be prohibited between North Basset and North Broom Street. The block closure will extend into Saturday until a tower crane is completely dismantled by Stevens Construction workers.

Access to residences on the 400 block of West Dayton Street will be permitted at all times during the closure.

Pedestrian traffic will be permitted on West Dayton and West Gilman Street to residences and businesses during the closures. Motorists and bicyclists are encouraged by the city to seek alternative routes to prevent delays during the closures.
