Police investigate “peeping Tom” case

Madison police are searching for a man who exposed himself through a woman’s ground-level window at her residence on the 200 block of East Mifflin Street.

Police describe the suspect to be between 20- and 30-years-old with short dark hair and wearing a blue baggy jacket and gray sweatpants, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

While there are no similar peeping Tom instances reported so far in the neighborhood, MPD Spokesperson Joel DeSpain warns that repeated offenses from the same suspect could occur.

“I’m not an expert in that field, but I can tell you that when we’ve had cases of exposure in the past, we’ve found that perpetrators often repeat the offenses,” DeSpain said.

Officers continue to warn community members to remain cautious.

“If [people] see someone peering in their window, they should call us immediately,” DeSpain said.
