A 33-year-old Madison man was shot and killed on the 1300 block of East Wilson Street at approximately 7 p.m. Monday, according to a Madison Police Department officer-in-charge.
MPD dispatched a number of officers to the site after a shot was fired, according to the officer-in-charge. Officers arrived on the “chaotic” scene, located a potential suspect and took the individual into custody.
The victim was pronounced deceased after being transported to a local hospital, according to the officer-in-charge.
The officer-in-charge said MPD is currently investigating the motive behind the homicide. According to the report, the shooting appears to be targeted and there is no apparent threat to the public at large.
