The University of Wisconsin-Madison will welcome filmmaker Robert Orlando to campus Wednesday for the screening of his documentary, “A Polite Bribe: An Apostle’s Final Bid” in the Marquee at Union South.
The film investigates the history of Apostle Paul, the earliest Jewish Christian author, through a combination of animation and interviews with top religious scholars.
Orlando, an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker, will hold a discussion along with a university faculty panel of religion and media experts prior to the screening.
Religious studies senior lecturer Corrie Norman, who teaches a course on Paul, said in the release, “‘A Polite Bribe’ compellingly raises questions too important for scholars and people of faith to ignore politely.”
The university’s Religious Studies Program is sponsoring the film and discussion as part of a series of free events titled “What Happened to Paul and Why It Matters to Jews, Christians and the Media.”
