Madison police arrested a 19-year-old University of Wisconsin-Madison male student Saturday after he sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman at a party at Equinox Apartments, located at 409 W. Gorham St., according to Madison Police Department Spokesperson Joel DeSpain.
Frank Jermusek, originally from Saint Louis Park, Minn., attempted to put his hands down the victim’s pants at approximately 12:59 a.m. early Saturday morning, according to DeSpain. The suspect did not know the victim prior to the incident.
One of the victim’s male friends attempted to intervene during the incident, and the suspect punched him in the face, according to DeSpain. The suspect was intoxicated at the time of the assault, according to DeSpain’s report.
Jermusek was arrested on two counts of fourth degree sexual assault and battery as well as underage consumption of alcohol, according to the report.
