State Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, D-Alma, was involved in a car crash Sunday resulting in multiple fractures to her right arm, according to a spokesperson from her office.
The spokesperson said the senator is expected to meet with an orthopedic surgeon today in Eau Claire.
According to the spokesperson, the accident was caused by the poor weather Sunday that also resulted in multiple car accidents during the weekend.
Douglas Kane, the senator’s husband, told the Associated Press Vinehout "seems to be doing quite well."
Vinehout was en route to a political event when the crash happened. She was hospitalized briefly before being released, according to the spokesperson.
