Thanks to 53 points in the second half, the Wisconsin women's basketball team dominated Milwaukee on the road, winning 85-60 Thursday night.
The strong second half performance is the best for the Badgers since 2007.
This is the first time in head coach Bobbie Kelsey's career with Wisconsin that her team started the season 2-0.
Five Badger players scored in double figures with redshirt junior forward Michala Johnson leading the way with 21 points.
Junior forward Jacki Gulczynski had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Milwaukee was not giving up early, and even held a seven-point lead, but a late three-pointer by sophomore guard Dakota Whyte gave the Badgers a 32-28 lead going into the first half.
Wisconsin broke out of the halftime break with a 7-2 run and did not look back for the rest of the game.
After accumulating a lead of 30 points, the Badgers made substitutions and all 12 players on the roster saw playing time.
Depth will be important for Wisconsin this season. Last year was filled with injuries, especially when it lost senior guard Taylor Wurtz for the season.
The Badgers return home to host Northern Illinois on Sunday at the Kohl Center at 2 p.m.
