Metro Transit driver treated for head injuries after passengers beat him

A Metro Transit driver was treated at a hospital for head trauma following an altercation with two passengers Wednesday, according to a police report.

According to the report, a young man threatened the 46-year-old driver as the bus was pulling out of the East Transfer Point.

The driver then stopped the vehicle, at which point the driver, his verbal assaulter and a friend of the latter party stepped off. According to the report, witnesses recalled the two battery suspects knocking the driver to the ground and striking him.

Police have not arrested the suspects.

The first suspect is described in the report as a black male in his teens, approximately 5 feet 11 inches, who was wearing a sweatshirt, “baggy” pants and a hat. The report describes the second suspect as a black male in his teens, 6 feet tall, approximately 220 pounds with “medium length afro style hair,” who was wearing a light top and dark pants.
