Man robbed at knifepoint on bike path Wednesday evening

The first armed robbery to occur near campus in recent weeks took place Wednesday evening on the bike path, according to Madison Police Department Lt. Dan Olivas.

Olivas said a man in his 20s was robbed at knifepoint on the 600 block of West Washington Avenue at approximately 5:50.

 According to a report published by Olivas, a white male in his 20s robbed the victim at knifepoint, and fled on foot after stealing the victim’s cash. The victim was not injured.

 The suspect is described as having light facial and was wearing jeans, a dark windbreaker and a dark knit beanie style hat at the time of the incident.
