The 100 block of State Street will close from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday due to a crane assembly for a nearby construction project, according to a city press release.
Pedestrians will still be allowed through the 100 block between West Dayton and West Mifflin Streets. Vehicles and bicycles will not be allowed, so the city encourages seeking alternative routes, according to the release.
The release said some Madison Metro Bus routes will temporarily detour as a result of the closure.
The construction project is scheduled for completion in Spring 2014, according to the Downtown Madison website.
