Police found a 23-year-old male battery victim bleeding and crying in the middle of North Brooks Street early Sunday morning, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
Witnesses called police after seeing people fighting, according to the report, but the victim was the only person at the scene when the officers arrived.
According to the report, the victim cursed and “mouthed off” to police and medical staff, even after they explained they were trying to help him.
The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for a facial fracture, the report said.
The police did not identify any suspects in the incident report.
