Madison Public Library’s downtown branch is reopening Saturday at 8 a.m. after almost two years of construction, according to its website.
A full weekend of family activities and fun will accompany the grand opening of the Central Library, located at 201 W. Mifflin St., and the block from the library to The Overture Center for the Arts will be blocked off Saturday for the festivities.
Madison Mayor Paul Soglin will participate in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. to kick off the celebration.
Throughout the rest of the weekend, the library will offer film viewings, distinguished lectures, musical performances, public tours and regular library services.
