Madison police apprehended a man who the Federal Bureau of Investigation was seeking for questioning in a murder investigation on Madison’s west side Thursday, according to a police report.
Authorities released Paris Poe, 33, on parole in 2011, and he fled Illinois to avoid custody after he violated his parole, according to the FBI.
Poe was convicted of aggravated battery and robbery in Illinois in 2009, according to the FBI.
The Madison Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics team took Poe into custody on Highway 30 between Fair Oaks Avenue and Highway 51 shortly after a “high-risk” traffic stop just after 7 p.m., according to the report.
Prior to being taken into custody, the report said Poe was considered “armed and dangerous.”
According to the report, the incident did not result in any injuries.
