Madison police arrested a suspect for armed robbery Wednesday after they tracked a stolen MacBook to his location at a warming shelter.
While wearing a face mask, Alex A. Mann, 18, allegedly followed a 29-year-old white male to the 400 block of West Main Street Tuesday, pointed a gun at him and demanded his wallet, cell phone and bag, which contained a MacBook.
According to the police report, a Madison Police Department detective tracked the stolen laptop to a warming shelter at 827 E. Washington Ave., where investigators arrested the suspect.
Along with the laptop, investigators identified a BB gun resembling a handgun that was used during the robbery, according to the police report.
The report said police found Mann with Greyhound luggage receipts. The suspect has no permanent address.
