The Madison Police Department is working to identify a "suspicious" man who allegedly grabbed a woman walking on campus Saturday and attempted to take her with him, according to a police report.
The 21-year-old victim was walking on the 400 block of West Gorham Street when the suspect grabbed her arm and tried to pull her with him at approximately 6:12 p.m., MPD spokesperson Joel DeSpain said in a statement.
The woman told police she was afraid he was going to assault her and she was able to get away by ripping her arm from the suspect’s grip, according to DeSpain.
The report describes the suspect as a 6’5” African-American man in his 20’s wearing a blue cap, dark pants and a “puffy winter coat,” who the police have not yet identified.
DeSpain said the woman was listening to music on her headphones when she was attacked.
