Three University of Wisconsin-Madison political science professors will discuss the implications for America of Iran possessing a nuclear weapon at an event Tuesday evening.
Discussion at the panel, hosted by the Madison-Israel Public Affairs Committee, will focus on the consequences a nuclear Iran would have for the United States, including potential economic and foreign policy consequences.
MadPAC president Natanya Russek said the Iranian threat is important yet underrated by many students.
“[The panel] is a really great opportunity to open students’ eyes to the different opinions that exist on a threat that’s very real to all of us as Americans,” Russek said.
During the panel, professor Andrew Kydd will discuss international security, professor Nadav Shelef will discuss Middle Eastern politics, and professor Jon Pevehouse will discuss political economics.
“Facing a Weapon: What Americans Must Know about the Dangers of a Nuclear Iran” will take place Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in room 159 of the Education Building.
