Osaka House closes early due to fight

A State Street bar closed early for the night because of a fight occurring between three people Sunday, resulting in one arrest and two citations.

Madison police responded to Osaka House, 505 State St., after bystanders witnessed three men fighting in the street, according to Madison Police Department spokesperson Joel DeSpain.

DeSpain said in a statement officers arrested 21-year-old David Kannenberg for battery and disorderly conduct and cited Caleb Nchang and Sherman Street, also 21 years old, for disorderly conduct.

Nchang and Street came to Kannenberg’s aid when he began fighting with the Osaka House security staff after getting into an argument with a woman, according to DeSpain.

Although the disruptive patrons eventually took their fighting outside, Manager Ashley Nuon said she closed Osaka House because of the incident.

“[Osaka House] did close early because we didn’t want any of our customers to be injured,” Nuon said.
