Group fights on 100 block of State Street

An argument between several women on the 100 block of State Street led to a fight early Sunday morning.

A 20- to 25-year-old woman knocked a “highly intoxicated” 18-year-old Mt. Horeb woman unconscious during a fight, according to Madison Police Department spokesperson Joel DeSpain.

Prior to any punches being thrown, the victim had been arguing with several other women, according to police.

DeSpain said friends of the victim came to her aid while the suspect left with another woman, walking toward the Capitol.

DeSpain said in a statement the victim regained consciousness but suffered a bloody nose.
