A UW-Madison student was knocked unconscious walking through a West Johnson Street parking lot early Saturday morning.
After a night out drinking, "the student remembers someone saying something to him, and believes he likely said something back," Madison Police Department Spokesperson Joel DeSpain said in a statement.
"The next thing he knows he's knocked unconscious," DeSpain said.
Police said he thinks three white males battered him.
He described them as being between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches.
"It's not uncommon that we have battery incidents after bar closing," DeSpain said.
